20th Annual Robideau/Lamitie-King Middle & High School Juried Exhibit

20th Annual Robideau/Lamitie-King Middle & High School Juried Exhibit This Exhibit tradition of Foothills Art Society is in memory of long time Malone photographer Norbert Robideau and in honor of respected Malone Middle School Art teacher Karen Lamitie-King. This year the Art from 6th-12th grade students from different school districts as Malone CSD,
Brushton-Moira CSD, Chateaugay CSD, Salmon River CSD and St. Regis Falls CSD are invited to participate. There will be Awards to the best work in the Arts of Paint, Drawing, Mixed Media, Sculpture and Photography. Honorable Mentions, Participation Certificates and one People’s Choice Award will be presented as well. Two Scholarships are given to Seniors Majoring or Minoring in Arts at the College level: – The Foothills Art Society scholarship for $500 to a Senior student from any of the school districts participating. – The Robideau/Lamitie-King scholarship for $200 to a Senior student from Franklin Academy in Malone. Closing ceremony and Awards will be on June 1st from 4-6 pm during the day a Silent Auction will take place for the “Lava Flower” painting made by Arnold Sauther a long career Artist who donates every year a painting to help and make this Exhibit possible. The jurors for this year are Jon Chodat, Becky Harblin and Carole Bracy who are local talented Artists. There will be a Meet and Greet with Jon Chodat and Becky Harblin from 4-5 pm on June 1st. all students and interested are invited to attend. Exhibit will be open from May 5th through June 1st. All the Art work will be displayed also at FoothillsArtSociety.com and in @Foothilsartsociety Facebook page. We invite everyone to vote for the People’s Choice Award in the Facebook page and during the Closing Ceremony day on June 1st. Robideau/Lamitie-King Exhibit will be hosted by the North Star Gallery a recently opened space for all the events, shows and performances Foothills Art Society has during the year.
