Back to School Celebration Set for Aug. 28 on Outer Market Street

Families can gear up for the new school year with free supplies, activities, and community fun at the Back to School Celebration on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the plaza at 200 Market St, Potsdam, NY.

The event will feature free new books for children from The UPS Store’s “Reading Counts with Scholastic” program, free school supplies from NBT Bank and The Paint Lab, and free slushies for kids from The Lounge. North Country Winds will provide free notebooks and yard games, and Save A Lot will offer a ring toss game with prizes.

Children will have the opportunity to meet local officers from the Potsdam Police Department. Artist Kris Rozelle of KrisALis Designs and Phoenix Rising Art will offer acrylic pour keychains, while supplies last, with a $5 donation appreciated. The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce will host a “Get to Know Your Businesses” game.

The event is free and open to the public. Some giveaways are available while supplies last.
