North Country Children’s Museum Presents Live Beehive Program

August 16 @ 11:00 pm

On Saturday, August 16 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the North Country Children’s Museum will host the Live Hive Program with B.M. Dooney Farms. The program is led by local beekeepers Arden Haynes and Marnie Erin, owners of B.M. Dooney Farms.

Children will have the chance to observe a live honeybee colony through a secure viewing window and learn about how bees work and live. Participants will also be able to sample raw local honey and take part in a beehive painting activity using non-toxic, washable paints.

Painted beehives will become part of a Community Beehive Art Project, which includes decorated hives from across St. Lawrence County. Finished beehives will be placed at B.M. Dooney Farms’ apiaries in Colton, Potsdam, and Canton.

This program is included with museum admission and membership. The event is open to the public and pre registration is not required.

The North Country Children’s Museum is located at 10 Raymond Street in downtown Potsdam. For more information, visit www.northcountrychildrensmuseum.org
